You play my father (2023)

For the first time, a survivor and a UN peacekeeper share the stage to portray the Srebrenica genocide — the largest massacre in Europe since World War II. Alma (40) was a child when Serbian troops attacked the Bosnian enclave and killed 8,372 people, including 22 members of her family. Ray (48) was one of the Dutch UN soldiers tasked with protecting them. Like many of his comrades, he still suffers from psychological trauma and has attempted suicide several times.

Alma and Ray have decided it is time to leave the Netherlands — where they both live — and bring the play “Dangerous Names”, where they share their experiences, to the place where it all happened, to expose their trauma before collective memory, and to embark on a physical and emotional journey through the past and present of Bosnia.
