THE DUTCHBAT (2026) – IN postPRODUCTION
Thirty years ago, their lives were put on hold. Remko, Liesbeth, Rob, Jaski, Ray, and Edo were just kids—barely 18 to 20 years old—when they were sent to Srebrenica (Bosnia) as UN peacekeepers in Dutchbat III. On July 11, 1995, the Bosnian Serb army invaded the enclave. No one intervened. In the span of a single week, more than 8,000 people were killed—the worst genocide in Europe since World War II.
The Dutchbat documentary follows these veterans as they return to the place where time stopped. In Srebrenica, they confront the legacy of that week: horror, guilt, trauma, and the complicated search for redemption. Together, they face the unresolved weight of the past in their bodies, their memories, and in the invisible, endless cycle of war that continues to echo through Europe and beyond, as new conflicts keep sending more young people to the front lines.
