The rigt to rest (2019)

Through personal narratives and political discourse, The Right to Rest sheds light on the criminalization of homelessness, the affordable housing crisis, and the societal stigma faced by the homeless population. The film chronicles the efforts of grassroots organizations like Denver Homeless Out Loud and Colorado Village Collaborative as they work towards establishing Beloved Community Village, Denver’s first tiny house community for individuals experiencing homelessness.

At its core, The Right to Rest challenges viewers to consider the true meaning of a “world-class city” and questions for whom such a city is built. The film not only documents the struggles and resilience of those fighting for housing rights but also serves as a call to action for political and social change.
